So Where Should I Drop it?

by admin on May 28, 2009

So I’m listening to the new M&M album as I type this – damn that dude can rhyme.

I really need to write a review of the new album or Marshall in general. My question to you (Dave) is where do you think I should put it? It’s a bit like the “Why LOST is the best TV Show Ever!” post, as the idea of writing something about Em has been tumbling in my head for a while. Problem is, I’ve lost subscribers or followers EVERY SINGLE TIME I’ve ever mentioned my affection for the potty mouth. I don’t mind this so much, as I do believe it strengthens the core audience. However, I would like to drop the post where the audience will most appreciate it.

Here are my choices. NOTE: This is officially a list post.

1) Writer Dad – The angle I would take here is that he’s a helluva writer who took a wretched childhood and spun it into gold. I also think, despite much evidence to the contrary, he’s a far better father than he is ever given credit for. If you dig beneath the filth, there is a tender man who loves his daughter without limits quivering under all the bravado.

2) Collective Inkwell – If I write the post for CI, it will be all about Em’s wild unbridled creativity. The way he allows his muse to run naked across the stage, marrying mad rhymes and unrestrained id.

3) Ghostwriter Dad – I’m a writer, so here I would try to break his work down purely on a writer’s level. There’s no doubt the dude is one of the best writers to ever cut a record. The way he is able to play with pentameter, seemingly without even trying, is inspiring.

4) Potty Training Power – The poop that comes out of that dude’s mouth – CRAZY.

Note: PTP is not really under consideration.

Until tomorrow…

I see your problem. Many peeps fail to understaqnd that it’s possible to enjoy the creativity of a man who appears mysoginistic and violent in the extreme because they can’t detach themselves from the paradigm through which they view the world long enough to appreciate the genius of the man. Just becasue you or I may approeciate what he does, doesn’t mean we condone the message in his music. Sadly many will jump to the wrong conclusions.

If I were you I would drop it as a guest post on Zen mother’king Habits. Failing that, you could always guest post it on NamasDaisy. Hell yeah.

Hells Yeah! I hadn’t even thought about Namas Daisy. That would fly high in those skies.

Thanks for helping me see clearly. Interested in any tracks? I’d be happy to shoot ‘em your way.

How funny is this? I left that comment a couple of hours ago, but it got stuck in moderation! I was on a different monitor and I wasn’t recognized. Like being locked out of my house.

What are you talking about? It looks awesome. Do you mean because it didn’t flip?

This is the one I normally do, but it never flips. : > )
